Like a seasonal change of clothes, our favourite books are subject for a nice new look every once in a while. Marking the occasion of Picador reissuing 12 modern classics for their 40th birthday , their senior designer Neil Lang undertook the tricky task of designs with continuity and style, hinting at the pages within and of course, being unavoidably aesthetic. With illustrator Rob Hunter offering an illustrative lean on the titles that needed it, they’re a lovely looking set…
Although I don't want to necessarily work with image I really like these book covers because of the powerful use of the line and the use of white space, the simplicity of the black and white makes the design successful and focuses on the shapes created.
