It was definitely a New York moment when I walked into the infamous leatherman Mitch Alfus’s loft, above La Esquina, to meet up with some friends. I was not expecting anything close to the world I entered. Whole animal skins head-on lay all around his floors, gorgeous Turkish rugs, original vintage metal aircraft government cases as seating around his enormous dining table, candle nests that would take 5 minutes to light, and a collection of baby fur vests from his own line were just a few of the things that caught my upon entering. It is one of those spaces in which you can discover new things as many times as you visit,a museum of inspiration.
