Coppergold

"Coppergold is a new brand of jewelry created by the copper foundry La Farga Group, a company with 200 years of history and internationally acclaimed for their copper products. Their vision is to create a very innovative and unique type of jewels with a new metal alloy made of copper and gold."

    "An exclusive and unique product that needs a very special treatment from all points of view. The packaging has the function of a display, so it can be put at the shelves or the store cupboard and the jewel can be seen through the transparent methacrylate. The combination of materials like cardboard and methacrylate give a sense and sophistication, and the assembly of the packaging with two flat rubber bands adds another singularity to the whole piece.
The jewels are designed by various artists, and their unique personality and passion is represented by different abstract line drawing surrounding the jewel. We also use two very different typographies in size and morphology to add a sharp contrast. The colours used are very neutral, like black or white to give maximum visibility to the jewel, which always lays in a flat black surface between the cardboard and the methacrylate."

Student Spotlight: Timberland’s® Earthkeepers Shoebox

We were assigned to redesign and create a sustainable shoebox for an existing company and/or shoe, and I chose Timberland’s® Earthkeepers™ brand.
"I first redesigned the logo to look more organic to better represent the earth friendly footwear. I then created and designed a shoebox that folds flat and compacts for easy storage and reusability, encouraging the consumer to reuse the box for other purposes. This shoebox uses 100% recyclable materials and sustainable adhesives. I also included a biodegradable handle to reduce the use of bags. The handle also acts as a latching system, so when carried the product does not fall out. The tags included on the shoe are to better explain the reusability of the box, as well as Timberland’s® beliefs."

Student Spotlight : Five Ten Rock Climbing Shoe Box

Five Ten is one of the top brands of climbing shoes.
"My goal was to design a shoebox that would be a better user experience and would better reflect the brand. There is a lot of photography on Five Ten’s website. I wanted to take this idea and apply it to the box design. The photography incorporates both outdoor and indoor climbing, so no one is left out. The pull out drawer function also gives a fresh take on the typical shoebox. Leave No Trace policies are also something I wanted to push in this project. Leave No Trace gives tips on how to clean up after your climbing day and not to disrupt or litter the environment. This is the reason why there are no people climbing on the box."
The inside drawer was screen printed with the logo, rock texture and tagline, “Brand of the Brave.” This way even when the drawer is pulled out it doesn’t take away from the design and look like plain cardboard. The pull strap for the drawer is a fabric loop that reflects the fabric loop of a climbing harness. Also incorporated in this package design was a brochure. In the brochure the Leave No Trace policies are better explained, as well as information about the company itself.

Basics 029, the menswear brand were launching their own brand of fashion briefs. And for this, they wanted to create a stand out packaging that was different from the mundane packs that innerwear usually come in, and one that broke the usual pattern in the retail industry.

 
 
Briefs play a significant part in a man's attire, as it covers one of the most vital and delicate organs on his body. And yet, the importance of good underwear is universally ignored. To highlight this fact, we went for a quirky analogy comparing the male anatomy to something that is equally fragile: eggs. Combining this with trademark Basics 029 wit, we created a packaging that gave the men something more than the conventional square boxes usually seen in their category.

Oyuna Cashmere To Keep

Daniel Weil likes to take overexposed objects and look at them afresh.

 
 
His latest design for cashmere label Oyuna is Cashmere To Keep, a gusseted container bag with a folded closure that is secured with elastic. The shopping bag format has been automatically produced for over a century but Cashmere To Keep reinvents that format, removing handles and adding a foldover crease, allowing customers to open and close it like a box but carry it underarm like a bag. The crease is angled to reflect the angle of the ‘y’ on the Oyuna logotype. Cashmere To Keep is being made in different sizes to fit accessories, fashion and home products and its design elevates humble packaging from something to be thrown away to something to be kept.

Coca Cola's Tribute to Fashion

Story Of Now Work photographed

There is still A LOT to add to this project, postcards, paper carrier bag, passport style receipt slips and screenprinted t-shirts and tote bag. Also complete the Lookbook properly but it's looking good so far, really happy with it.... although i wish it could be photographed onto wood.... it goes with the project so much better!
