Meeting with Lauren

After my visit to team print I had come prepared for the meeting with Lauren to explain print processes that she could have for her business cards inside her price range.

£200 -Negotiable

-20 Lookbooks
-50 LC business cards
-50 ES businesss cards
-17 Swingtags

Embossing- although it would look really nice and work with the ethical theme, no printing needed. costs £80-£120 just for one plate... for 50 business cards this is pretty ridiculous in price.

Gold edge- Lauren mentioned wanting a gold edge to her business cards, this is done by spraying the sides of the card with a paint.... this would be in her price range

Gold Foil- Also looking at foiling, this is a technique that could fit within her budget.

Reverse Colour cards- LC white front black back, gold edge (could work as 2-3 cards pressed together but would obviously be more expensive)

I showed lauren the paper samples I received from paper back, all recycled, ethical materials. Really likes them wants the natural for swingtags.... white for business cards.

IST- £80 for 80 cards -student quote given to a few pupils in the studio.... need to ring and negotiate whether i can get 2 x 50 cards for as close to £100 as possible!

She would like to see whether we could use an ethical printing company- this is something i need to look into and see how much it would effect price.

ORDER WHITE SAMPLES FOR PAPER
NEGOTIATE PRICE FOR PAPER
NEGOTIATE PRICE FOR B CARDS

as this run of the swingtags are so small I will make these in university- lauren covering printing costs.
lookbooks will also be made in uni as we will have more creative reign to create an interesting format. Team print made us aware of how costs can change substantially just for using a different format. 20 isn't a lot to make.... also we can add handmade qualities in sewn binds etc which lauren has mentioned she likes.

I showed Lauren Business cards, she prefers to keep them simple and use the same font on the front and back Century Gothic instead of introducing a new typeface (see below.)
